Reed Bunting

A very fine Reed Bunting made a brief visit to the garden this morning, the first visit we have had of one of these lovely birds for nearly  a year. Like Bazz, we also had visit from a Pied Wagtail. The local Buzzards are displaying well, but there has been little interest in our nest boxes as yet.

We have just returned from a few days in Somerset where it was also bitterly cold, although without the snow! There was little sign of any migrants aside from some very confused Sand Martins. A couple of brief outbursts from a Cetti’s Warbler perhaps indicated Spring may not be far off, but it looks like winter is here for another week or so yet!

About alinrhayader

Been in Radnorshire since 2008 but probably still not long enough to be a local! Busy developing an impressive garden list on outskirts of Rhayader.
