Garden visitors

Entertained by three days of this handsome chap feeding off the Sparrowhawk feeders.  Tits not so entertained…   On other days, Blue tit investigating what the Treecreeper was doing.   Juvenile Buzzard (?) Advertisements

Fledged birds everywhere!

While the Spotted Flycatchers are busy feeding babies (heads just visible looking over the nest) and chasing off Jays… the garden has exploded with babies! The Redstart (possibly female) and GS Woodpecker arrived in the garden this morning!

Spotted Flycatcher nest

Delighted to return from a photo trip to Scotland to discover a pair of Spotted Flycatchers have used one of the nest boxes we installed in the garden earlier in the year, actively hunting flies and returning to their nest!
