Elan part 2.

To continue with the mundane after Chris’s “Bioblitz”, Sue spotted this Redstart @ Craig Goch dam -when I investigated , turns out he had a family lurking in the bracken-bit odd for a Red out in the open and I can but assume they nested in the dam wall. Anyway…success! Plus a young Redpoll feeding by the loo. It’s interesting to see birds succeeding within the human context as oppo to us disturbing them !!

Hi there (Carol is it???) , yup , I have a 600mm. BUT, I use the car quite often as a hide-they don’t mind cars! Thus, I drove up to re 40 feet of the gate on the far side of Craig Goch dam-the left track , not the toilet one and waited…took time , but eventually he popped up.Mealworms are a help: once they spot those , they will ignore you!
