Friends and New Faces.

Bird Walk, RSPB Carngafallt, Elan Valley.

A big thank you to all those that turned up today for this event.

A total of 32 species were seen, highlights included Wood Warbler, at least 3 singing birds, Mandarin, Stock Dove, Cormorant, Pied Flycatcher, Blackcap, Goshawk (Well spotted Cherry) and Redpoll.

A keen Birdwatcher from the age of 12 after watching a flock of Waxwings outside the School gates. Became a serious twitcher during the 80s. A Wildlife Trust Warden and Warwickshire County Mammal Recorder for the Mammal Society and Warwickickshire Biological Record Centre before moving to Mid-Wales.     A very enjoyable morning and the weather held off for most of the morning too! Great to see such a good turn out. Next week hopefully the Redstarts will have returned..

    We really enjoyed it. Made a great start to our holiday in the Elan Valley.

    A great walk Tony and Alan, thank you. I spent the rest of the damp day in the Valley and saw 43 species.
