Monthly Summary.

Elan Valley February:

Record numbers this month were 1,000+ Fieldfare (28th), and 60 Mandarin (12th). Of note were Kingfisher, recorded for the 2nd month, and the first record this year of a pair of Dipper.

Other records included 12 Stonechat (9th), 20 Mistle Thrush and 10 Bullfinch (12th), A Short-eared Owl was recorded (13), 2 wintering Chiffchaff (14th), and a Kittiwake (24th).

Watching birds from an early age. Became a serious twitcher during the 80s clocking up 400 + species, which was a lot in them days.
