Cold & Frosty.

Back to the mundane for me-despite chasing Waxy ghosts all day yest. they managed to avoid me! Very frustrating!  In the garden , a record number of Blackbirds…SEVENTEEN! Managed to squeeze 12 into this pic. Woodies regular along with Green & Goldfinches, the Goldcrest and Treecreeper plus a REDPOLL at last and Song Thrush. Lake developed a few ice free patches and 3 Goosanders dared to return. Rail squealing away in reeds.

    You are not alone –
I spent most of Sunday afternoon chasing Waxwings around Llandrindod , but never managed to catch up with them !
Maybe I’ll give the one’s in Brecon a go !

Cheers Nigel-thought about it today, but decided they’d clear off before I got there!

Love the Blackbirds and apples shot, had to count them even though you stated the number!

That’s one heck of a windfall Kev. Surprised the blackbirds tolerate each other so well… in my garden they often chase after each other rather than eat. Have you seen our white-headed blackbird yet?

  5. kevjoynes says:

Hiya-I did gather all together from 3 trees! Yes , they do squabble , but nowhere near what you might expect-there are so many that there’s no territory involved. I can tell from numbers of oppo sexes and black billed visitors that double that figure are around and probably more, but no -yours hasn’t turned up , tho I did see him when the Rowans were still out.

    Cheers Bri-glad you trust me!!!!
