Elan Valley Today.

A cracking day to start the new year off…I was hoping to get a glimpse …a shot of the ringed Kestrel…but not today thankyou….A flock of 50+ Fieldfares in the Ciloerwynt Roadside pasture worming along with Starlings, Mistle, Blackbird, and a very hefty buzzard. Dolyrmynch Res viewed the flock of mandarins …First assumed there were only eight, making their way to the alders and willows down below the new access Track , then the rest of them clocked me and away they went over the far side of the res must have been 20ish…More Field fares worming near the Hirnant farm and more again near the second bridge on the Cwmystwyh Road….the sun certainly bought the Stonechats out, counted 12 in full view._j8a1238  several kites and one Kestrel, and of course the madding crowds, sunshine!!!!! can’t blame them.
