Grasshopper Warbler @ Nantmel Tip

A single bird seen well in the reedy area down the bottom end. Also seen 3 Whitethroat, a number of Willow Warbler (including a singing bird) and a few Chiffchaffs. Also heard a Willow Tit and as dusk fell, around 50 Pied wagtails came into the reeds in small groups to roost.

  1. Well done on the Gropper-Bazz went earlier in the year and couldn’t find any.

  2. Went this morning Kev,Steve and still no luck….but loads of hirundines feeding over the leaching pool mainly house martins with a few swallows ..whitethroat , tree pipit ,Chiffie and willow warbler calling.

  3. I saw it from the public footpath about 50m before you go over the style towards the river. It wasnt reeling, just sat on the meadowsweet scolding me with a ‘tick, tick’ call. Dont often see them so well.

  4. No wonder I didn’t see it Steve ….I was concentrating on where I have sighted and heard it previously L.H.S. 100 metres past main gate. ( naughty)!
