Water rail Llandod lake

Sighted parent with two maybe three chicks , foraging beneath the perimeter fence posts lagoon area..viwed with bins from beach area…a first for me to see rail chicks at the lake a very secretive bird.

  1. Wow! Brill spot Bazz-never seen chicks-great to have proof that they have bred-we always assumed they cleared off in Spring. Amazed no-one has heard them.

  2. Cheers Kev, I sighted one single chick just after I left you and Sue , that one was where we usually photograph the warbler young near outlet lagoon North side…then met a birder from Ledbury and we both sighted the parent with Chicks from beach area…as you say unusually quiet. They were juves and foraging for themselves…..Picture next!!!!!.
