Whinchat et al.

_J8A6248Managed to catch up with a family of Whinchats yesterday… unfortunately not at the Rhogo.. but a little further afield i.e Bryngwyn… Rhosgoch nr painscastle. They are so secretive feeding their young.. hardly managed a glimpse of them unlike the stonechat which will happily sit on top of a gorse bush feeding their off spring._J8A6237

_J8A6206Gold Crest nr Powys Headquaters….I was Driving up to the lake at 8.00pm ( Looked at my watch) and a flock of c 100 what I can only assume were Golden plovers..Wow talk about aerobatics …weaving and diving in perfect synchronised flight..of course no camera or bins, but what a sight only lasted a minute or so then they disappeared don’t ask me where…If any one  with more Knowledge of waders sighted the same please do not hesitate to put me right on I.D.

    Words fail to do them justice, but must mention the juv. Stonechat – what a beauty…. and the 1st one – what a picture of activity !
