Recent sightings…

Been a bit busy the last week or so, but have manged to see a few decent birds while being out and about.

Bwlch-y-Sarnau – 2 Goshawk, 2 Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Woodcock, Snipe and 100 Fieldfare

Crossgates – Wigeon, Sparrowhawk and 4 Siskin

Llanbadarn Fynydd – 500 Fieldfare, Barn Owl and 3 Otters!!

Llandod Lake – 26 Goosander and Water Rail

Pentrosfa Mire – 120 Snipe, Water Rail and a mixed flock of 200 finches (Brambling, Chaffinch, Linnet and Greenfinch)

Llanbwchlyn Lake – 2 Goldeneye, 31 Goosander, 30 Teal and Water Rail

Erwood Station  – 3 Wwoodcock (feeding on the roadside) and double figures of Red Kite gatheringto roost nearby

Lower Wye – 120 Mute Swan, 60 Canada Gooe, 50 Wigeon, 80 teal, Goosander, 26 Lapwing and Water Rail

New Radnor – Peregrine

Penybont Common – Kestrel, Red Kite and Buzzard

  3. Wowww, very impressive and great news! I wonder what you see on your ‘less busy’ days… I had also no idea that Snipe could form such large flocks, I never encountered more than a few at a time.
