Ring Ouzels

An adult male showing well this morning between 10-00 – 11-00am in Caban Coch Quarry  car park, before flying along the hill side towards Garreg Ddu with 3 Mistle Thrush. Other Notes: The last week at least 5 Ring Ouzels present between Claerwen and Craig Goch, which I think is the same number as this time last year, also 5 Brambling which is 3 more than last year. Winter Thrushes  (Sat 17th) 1,000+ Fieldfare, 50+ Redwing and 30+ Mistle Thrush. Now a shortage of berries so birds are not hanging around, a few left around the v c and the Quarry car park. Other birds, the dashing Merlin still at the Hirnant along with 30+ Goldfinch. 3 Kestrels at Claerwen.

Yesterday (Sun 17th) 2 groups 80+ of Fieldfare came through, an adult male Stonechat at Craig Goch. Goosander 2 on Penygarreg along with 17 Mallard. The 2 Little Grebe still present on D y n. Elan Valley reservoir water levels like ive never seen before due to the dry weather.
