Yellow Hammer and other.

yellowhammer.A rare sighting this time of year and a distant record shot  10+ feeding near a sheep cratch in  field just below the first of the golf links bungalows Llandod this A.M ….Also a couple more of the elusive one who paid another visit to the reed bunting site near the  Llandod Lake lagoon area Midday….No sign of the otter pair since the last sighting a week or so ago, but judging by a dead carp carcass in the reed clearing skinned methodically and eaten they are still about. water rail 2

  4. Cheers Sue, when I say a rare sighting I mean a rare sighting for us townies …it is very true about the hay feed, that is what the golf links yellows were feeding on….it’s what they are or used to feed on!!!!!!.so nice to see them in such numbers, another diminishing species due to intensive farming.

  5. Great pics of water-rail picking up every detail of their plumage and undergrowth – lovely colourful yellow hammers, too

  6. Thankyou Heather, Sue, like the pic of the yellow hammer peeping from behind the tree you e mailed to Joy.
