Teal at Pentrosfa bog

Counted 18 Teal bleeping and twirling around on a marshy pool at Pentrosfa bog nature reserve this afternoon. Other birding highlights there included 50+ Fieldfares and many hundreds of Starlings being spooked by a fast flying medium-sized bird of prey, possibly Peregrine.

Birds heard singing locally in last few weeks: Robin, Wren, Dunnock, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Starling, Goldfinch and – via Carole – a Blackbird.  Not bad for middle of winter, anyone heard any others?
